Add Client Phone Numbers
Once a client's address has been added, phone need to be associated with the client. Multiple phones can exist for a client, with one identified as the default phone. phones can be updated and deleted (expired) as needed.
Steps to Enter Client Phone Information
- Search Client using the Unified Search method either by entering the First Name, Last Name, TaxID or using the wild card (%). From the search results, click the <Client Name> link. The Client screen appears.
- From the Client Entity Navigation list, click Phone tab. The Phone screen appears.
- Click Add phone. The Add Phone window appears.
- Select the type of phone from the Phone Type drop-down list. The phone fields will change according to the selection in this box.
- Select the Country from the Country drop-down box. The phone fields will change according to the selection in this box.
- Enter the phone information for the client.
- Click Save .
Note: The first phone entered will be considered the default phone and will appear at the top of the phone screen. To change the default phone, click the radio button next to the phone to use as the default phone.
Default Phone Number
The default phone number is assigned when the radio button next to that phone is clicked. If a phone is marked as the default, it cannot be removed. If the phone number that has been designated as the default needs to be removed, then assign another phone number as the default and then delete the original default phone number.
Delete Phone Number
When a phone number is no longer needed use the delete icon to delete the phone number. The deleted addresses will not appear in the phone list once they are deleted if the configuration prevents them from appearing.
Steps to Delete a Phone Number
- Search Client using the Unified Search method either by entering the First Name, Last Name, TaxID or using the wild card (%). From the search results, click the <Client Name> link. The Client screen appears.
- From the Client Entity Navigation list, click Phone tab. The phone screen appears with the phone list.
- Click the Delete icon in the phone record. The Delete icon is available on the phone record which is not the default phone number.
- Click Yes when the Delete phone confirmation window appears. The status of the phone should now be listed as expired.
Update Phone Number
Client phone information can be updated as needed. When an phone needs to be updated open the phone and update the fields.
Steps to Update Existing phone Information
- Search Client using the Unified Search method either by entering the Name or using the wild card (%). From the search results, click the <Client Name> link. The Client screen appears.
- From the Client Entity Navigation list, click Phone tab. The phone screen appears.
- Click <Phone Type>. The <Phone Type> window appears.
- Make the changes to the phone information.
- Click Save.
