Workflow Task Definition

The Workflow Tasks are defined in the Rules Palette, under the Admin Explorer > Administration > Workflow > Workflow Definition. In the New Workflow Task Type Definition window the definition requires a unique task name, identification of a queue, creation method, entity, and description. This information may be updated in Palette as needed. The Workflow Task definition may be deleted prior to creation of tasks that use the definition. When tasks that uses the definition exists in OIPA, the definition will be retained to support the existing data.

Workflow Widgets

The Workflow tab presents the generic Workflow queue and any number of business specific queues. This is presented when the User has access to at least one Workflow queue and the Workflow functionality is turned on.

  • The default workflow queue is titled as General Workflow.

  • The business specific queues are titled by the queue names defined by the users.

  • The queues presented on the page are defined in the AsCodeWorkflowQueue. In order for the queue's widget to be displayed, the User should be assigned its respective workflow role and preference should be set on the preference page.

  • Open Workflow Tasks assigned to the User are presented in the business specific queues and the same Workflow Tasks are presented in the General Workflow queue.

    • In addition, this queue presents open Workflow Tasks from the same queues that are unassigned and assigned to other team members.

  • Each row of the queues represents a Workflow Task, which provides Users the ability to navigate to the associated entity (Policy, Client, Requirement, Activity), to edit the Workflow Task and to view the Workflow Task's history.
