3.1 Release 8.6.0.2.0

This sections summarizes all the new and enhanced features in DSR, vSTP, VNFM, and SCEF.

3.1.1 DSR

No new features or feature enhancements have been introduced in this release.

3.1.2 vSTP

The following Virtual Signaling Transfer Point (vSTP) features are implemented in Release 8.6.0.2.0:
  • vENUM/DNS Phase-2

This feature enhances the Virtual E.164 Number Mapping (vENUM) functionality to add support for non-ENUM Domain Name Services (DNS) queries such as A, AAAA, SRV queries, and so on. Also, this adds a local DNS server database at vENUM, where Zones and DNS records can be provisioned through DSR GUI. While ENUM-specific DNS queries are handled using database at the User Data Repository (UDR). All other types of DNS queries are addressed based on the local database configured at vENUM.

For more information, see Oracle Communications Diameter Signaling Router vENUM User Guide.

  • vSTP SFAPP Enhancement

This enhancement adds a separate Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN) Global Title (GT) field in UDR Common Security DB similar to Visitor Location Register (VLR) GT and enhances Stateful Application (SFAPP) logic for SGSN validation. As Message Signaling Unit (MSU) can come from VLR or SGSN, these must be treated and validated separately.

For more information, see Oracle Communications Diameter Signaling Router SS7 Security Guide.
