About Importing and Exporting Data

Import/Export features allow you to bring data into P6 as well as export data to other tools when needed. Global and Project level privileges control the ability to import and export data.

Available Import Options:

Import projects from other P6 EPPM users or Microsoft Project
Import multiple projects in a single XML or XER file
Import multiple projects in a single XML file contained within a single zip file
Import Activities
Import Resources
Import Locations
Import Appointments as personal non-work exception time from Microsoft Outlook and other applications that support the iCalendar format
Move activity codes and calendars to projects
Remove codes, UDFs, and calendars from projects
Rename codes, UDFs, and calendars
Specify resource hierarchical position for importing into the resource breakdown structure
Map resources to generic resource names
Save import options in a template
Import views
Import enterprise data
