Creating a Test Case in Grid View

  1. Navigate to the Test Program tab for the desired program.

  1. If not already displayed, choose Grid from the view menu.
  1. In the left window, click the category name where you want to enter data. The right window will display the applicable inputs for the chosen category.
  1. In the right window, you will have two options, entering a value in directly or selecting from a pre-populated list. You also will be able to copy and paste entries.

Note: Hold your cursor over the input to view the input data type.

  1. To enter in a value directly, select the field and type in your entry.
  2. To select a value for string input types, click the icon at the end of the field. This will bring up a menu.
  3. c. The date format used by Test Case Editor uses the format YYYY-MM-DD. This may not reflect the date format used by the program.

  1. Select the option you want. Click USE VALUE. This closes the window and returns you to test case. Your selection will be filled in the field. If no valid values have been entered for this field, the list will be empty. You will have to enter a value in directly.

Note: You also can enter in a value for string inputs. You are not required to use the notepad icon.

  1. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for each category and input for the test case.
  1. When you have finished entering your inputs, click Rate to rate the test case.
  1. The Test Case sub-tab will switch to the Debug Report sub-tab once the test case has finished rating.  See Using the Debug Tab for more information.
  1. If you would like to save your test case, return to the Test Case sub-tab.
  1. Click Save to save the test case.
