Understanding Market Driven Support for Global Payroll

The PeopleSoft Global Payroll and Absence Management Country Extension(s) were moved to Market Driven Support (MDS) on January 1, 2023. It aligns the value of ongoing support with the cost of delivering highly variable and unpredictable regulatory updates in an environment of extreme regulatory fluctuation. A more sustainable system is used to support localizations, one that responds directly to the needs of customers. Rather than relying on Oracle to make this decision universally for all customers in a given region, customers can determine which countries merit ongoing support based on the value added to their business. The same Oracle product team will continue to provide legislative updates to customers. The Market Driven Support (MDS) option allows customers to continue receiving Oracle Support for one or more localizations while there are still customers registered in the country.

With effect from January 20, 2023, Market Driven Support will be offered to the following countries: Australia, China, France, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

As part of the MDS for the Global Payroll and Absence Management Country Extension(s), only the customers who have signed up for this program will be eligible to utilize patches for regulatory updates and legislative support that will be made available for these Country Extension(s). Customers who do not sign up for this program will not be entitled to access/use these updates, and access to the deliverables of the aforementioned MDS driven Country Extension(s) will be restricted. Unauthorized access or use of the updates by any individual or organization will be in violation and will subject to further action. Your licensed PeopleSoft HCM Release 9.2 must be currently supported with Software Update License & Support, and you must have a signed and approved ACS Legislative Updates for PeopleSoft 9.2 Global Payroll Country Extension(s) (Localizations) contract.

The eligible customers will be provided with two keys for each Global Payroll Country Extension that they have signed up for, as part of this program. These keys will be provided to the customers by the Oracle Support.

  • Subscription Key: This is a unique key that will be required by the customer to access the Country Extension(s) related updates and source code within the PUM Image, or updates provided using PRP(s). Oracle Support will provide new keys every year to eligible customers based on their MDS Program sign-up status.

  • Document Key: This is a unique key that will be needed by the customer to access any documentation that is delivered for the Global Payroll Country Extension(s) as part of legislative fixes, PRP’s or as part of the Image documentation. The customer will not be able to access the document(s) without this key. Oracle Support will provide new keys every year to eligible customers based on their MDS Program sign-up status.

Note: Only customers who have signed up for the MDS program will be provided Subscription and Document Keys to access/use the updates and legislative support.
