Primavera Cache Service (P6 EPPM Only)

In high latency environments, performance can be affected by the amount of data that needs to be transferred between P6 Professional and the P6 database. Enabling client-side cache can help to improve performance in these high latency environments by improving the speed of the most frequent operations: adding, deleting, and updating activities.

While you work in P6 Professional you are working in the local cache database which provides increased performance over connecting to the Cloud Connect database directly. In the background, the Primavera Cache Service continues to synchronize global data and data for the projects you are working in between the local cache database and the Cloud Connect database.

Note: Using the local cache can also prevent data loss if your P6 Professional session times out. The duration for session time out is set in Primavera P6 Administrator.
