Unifier 24.10

Payment Applications

Multiple Commits of Payment Applications - Day 1 Impact

Unifier now supports the ability to have multiple commits that create and update classic payment application schedules of values in a project.

This feature is supported in base commits that create Payment Application SOVs, change commits that update Payment Application SOVs, the Payment Application business process, and the Payment Application SOV structure.

When multiple commits are added to a shell, Unifier automatically creates a new grouping node – Payment Applications – when there is no User Mode Navigator defined. If the company has a User Mode Navigator defined, then an SOV node for each Base Commit will be available to be added.

An administrator must configure appropriate access permissions to prevent users from seeing the old Payment Applications leaf node and enable them to see the Payment Applications grouping node.

See the Day 1 Video regarding changes to the Unifier interface.

Pagination in Payment Applications

When there are more than 3,000 SOV lines in the payment grid, the system will show pagination defaulting to the first 3,000 lines in first page.

Help

Customer Help Link

Link directly from Unifier to your company's Help system by using the Help URL field in the Company Properties - General tab. If that field is populated, the system will automatically generate a new entry in the Help pull-down menu, providing users with direct access. Note that this is not applicable to Site Administrators or QA logins.

Configure the help link in the General Tab of the Company Properties panel.

Documents and Attachments

Finalizing Bluebeam Sessions

Two new options are added to Bluebeam and business process logs: Finalize and Revise original file and Revise original file. These options allow you to include the file as a revision to the file being reviewed.

Improved E-Signature Integration

Use envelopes in DocuSign or Adobe eSign to group multiple documents into a single file for signing. When the documents included in an envelope are returned to Unifier, they are consolidated into a single PDF.

Database

Identification Tags for Business Processes

You can now tag business processes with pre-defined tags, simplifying the development of reports and visualizations.

Each business process has a type, sub-type, classification, and identification tag. This can be configured in the General tab of the BP Configuration screen.

Commits

Commit Line Item Picker Support in Auto-Created Line Items

You can copy the commit line item picker value in to auto-created line items of a destination record when both source and destination are in the same shell and refer to the same contract.

Import/Export

Import Simple and Line Item Type Business Process Records across Projects

Unifier now provides the ability to import simple and line item type business process records via an Excel spreadsheet across multiple projects without using API calls and third party integration tools. This functionality requires user permissions.

Day 1 Impact: The permissions/Access Control for the Master log will show the new permission Allow Bulk Creation. It is unchecked by default.

In Master log > Business Process log, new Action options are available for users to download templates for record creation and import a file to create records across shells.

In worksheets of the Excel file, the first column of each form is new and titled Shell Number.

Bulk Updates using Excel

Perform bulk updates using Excel in the following areas:

A spreadsheet showing bulk updates of general spends, with a dropdown menu for CBS codes.

The standard line item tab for a bulk update spreadsheet of base or change commits.

The SOV Line Items tab of the bulk update spreadsheet, listing SOV lines for referenced contracts.

Audit log showing that bulk updates have occurred in a BP record.

Tasks

Improved Task Reassignment Performance

Task reassignment is now faster because an administrator can view only active tasks in the Task Reassignment log. Closed or completed tasks cannot be reassigned, irrespective of the user's status, and system prompts will inform you of the appropriate action to take regarding assignment and revisiting policies in the workflow setup.

For users, system prompts will help clarify actions to take when assignees are no longer active users, contingent upon assignment and revisiting policies.

This update also applies to the mobile application.

Configuration Packages

Adjust Currency of Imported Shell Templates and Single Instance Shells

When importing new shell templates or single shell instances, the currency can be modified if the source and destination currency do not match.

If the source and destination have the same base currency set, no prompt will be offered and the import will proceed without any currency options.

Leaving the box checked will replace the object's currency to match that of the destination environment. If you do not want the new shell template or single-instance shells to use the base currency, deselect the check box in the Replace Shell Currency in Destination column.

Views

Views in Shell Templates

Views can now be defined in the Shell templates for the Cost Sheet, Activity Sheet and Cash Flow which can be used for all users.

You can link a shell to a template using the Template Picker on the Shell Attribute form or by using the Default Shell template.

Reports and Dashboards

Collaborator License to Support Reporting - Day 1 Impact

Collaborator users in Unifier are now able to access both User-Defined and Custom reports at both company and project levels. For improved security, permission settings for User Defined Reports now include the option to View a report only, rather than creating one. If any other permission in selected in the hierarchy, then the View permission will automatically be selected.

Day 1 Impact: Users without prior permissions will lose access to the UDR log until view permission is granted, but those with at least Create Permission Based access will automatically receive it. This enhancement ensures collaborators added as individuals or to groups with report access can immediately view custom reports.

New permissions for reports, allowing for a new view-only permission.

uDesigner

Warning for Source and Destination Tab Mapping during Auto-Creation

When auto-creation processes are configured within a business process design, a warning message appears during error check or completing the design to verify that the source and destination tabs are correctly mapped in the auto-creation settings of the current tab.

This averts a situation where Unifier may be unable to create line items in new auto-created referenced records for the following reasons:

Mapping was carried out but either a source or destination line item tab was modified and auto-removed from auto-creation settings.

Line item tab names in auto-creation settings differ from those in the source and destination BP item logs.

Unifier displays a warning regarding source and destination tab mapping.

Mobile

Unifier Viewer for iOS

Unifier on both iOS and Android platforms now supports the following file formats:

pdf, doc, docx, docm, dot, dotx, dotm, xls, xlsx, xlsm, xlt, ppt, pptx, pptm, pot, pps, jpg, jpeg, png, jfif, tif, xlsb, xltx, xltm, potx, potm, ppsx, ppsm, vsd, vsdx, pub, dwg, dwf, dxf, dgn, svg, bmp, wmf, emf, gif, jp2, jpc, rtf, odt, ods, odp, html, msg, eml, txt, csv

These document types can be opened with or without markups.

Gates

New UI for Project Gates

The user interface for Project Gates is updated and improved. This includes the phase overview, scheduled runs, trigger conditions, attributes, and queries.

Integration

API to Lock and Unlock the Cost Sheet

Two new REST services are added, allowing integration user to get and put the cost sheet lock status. This allows for API updates to the cost sheet without forcing the user to navigate to the cost sheet via the application interface and lock or unlock it manually.

The new REST API services are accessible for an integration user who has Create, Update, and Get permissions on the CBS service. An integration user with Full Access permissions can access all the REST API services to create and get data from the Cost Sheet in any shell.

Update Business Process Records with Attachments

You can now update a document type business process record with new attachments. Only a single attachment may be included, and it cannot be a revision to an existing record attachment.

REST API to Terminate Records

Integration users are now able to terminate multiple workflow and non-workflow records that are not required.

A terminate record will have an entry in its Audit Log, with Event and Action fields indicated a termination via REST.

This API is not supported for Reservation BP, single-record BPs, and any BPs that do not have integration defined.

Improved Handling of Duplicate Full User Names

When creating or updating business process records via REST or CSV, the presence of multiple users with the same full names is handled as follows:

Support for Activity Sheets

New API functionality is added to enable the creation and updating of a manual activity sheet, including rescheduling a project, creating activity dependencies, re-costing a project, and creating/updating a baseline schedule.

You can define OIC integration for GET and SEND of manual and system activity sheets.

OIC Integration Enhancements

OIC is now integrated for non-workflow business processes so that the OIC API call will be invoked when a non-workflow record is submitted from the Unifier user interface.

Currently Deprecated Items

AutoVue (being deprecated in 24.10)

Older Unifier licenses currently support AutoVue. AutoVue is being deprecated but does not yet have a date by when it will be removed. AutoVue will continue to be supported, and customers can continue to use AutoVue while it is deprecated.

All SOAP Services (originally deprecated in 23.10; planned to be removed in 25.10)

We have provided Rest Services for the majority of the SOAP services. The few remaining gaps, which are not commonly used, will be provided in a future release. For the last several years we have only provided Rest Services, so there is now a large number of new services that are only supported via Rest. Customers currently using SOAP should migrate to Rest.

Programs (originally deprecated in 23.5; planned to be removed in 25.10)

When Programs were deprecated in 21.2, it was decided, based on customer feedback, to continue to support the reporting within the Programs to provide customers more time to move their reports to Shells. All Program functionality – including the reporting – is now being deprecated.

Schedule Manager (originally deprecated in 23.5; planned to be removed in 25.10

The Schedule Manager is being replaced by the Activity Sheet, which contains additional functionality and an improved user experience. Customers should move to Activity Sheets and make use of the Rate Sheets if they need to cost-load schedules. The Schedule Manager is now being deprecated.
