Upgrading to the Latest Version

This section describes how to upgrade to Primavera Data Warehouse Version 24.

To upgrade to Version 24, use the following table to determine your upgrade path:

Primavera Data Warehouse 24.12

Primavera Data Warehouse 21.12

Primavera Data Warehouse 23.12 and then upgrade to Primavera Data Warehouse24.12

Upgrade Procedure

The basic upgrading process is as follows:

  1. Back up all files that will be impacted by the upgrade, including the following:
    • Database schema for Primavera Data Warehouse
    • Installation folder for Primavera Data Warehouse or P6 Reporting Database.
  2. Review the Tested Configurations document to confirm that the versions of all related components (including Oracle Database, Java, and so on) are supported. If needed, upgrade components to supported versions before proceeding.
  3. Install the Primavera Data Warehouse database in a new folder. For details, see Installing Primavera Data Warehouse Software.

    Note: Do not install Primavera Data Warehouse Version 24 in the same folder where you installed a previous version of Primavera Data Warehouse or the P6 Reporting Database.

  4. Configure the Primavera Data Warehouse database. For details, see Configuring Primavera Data Warehouse.
    • Notes:
    • Refer to your existing schema when you use the configuration utility.
    • During configuration, ensure to reselect all required codes and UDFs.
  5. Upgrade the Primavera Data Warehouse schema. For details, see Upgrading the Primavera Data Warehouse Schema Only.
