Generating a Key for Encryption

Prior to configuring the bridge for project management systems, you must generate and then update a key for security.

To generate and update the key, complete the following steps:

1. Browse to the following folder:

   <Install Directory>\Oracle\Primavera Portfolio Management\Portfolios\bin.

2. Run the following command to generate a key in the KeyGenerator.xml file:

   psKeyGenerator.exe Generate

3. Make a back up copy of the following file:

   <Install Directory>\Oracle\Primavera Portfolio Management\Portfolios\bin\KeyGenerator.xml

   Note: Store the KeyGenerator.xml backup in a secure location.

If your Primavera Portfolio Management installation is a distributed setup environment:

1. Copy the KeyGenerator.xml file to all the other application servers in the distributed setup to the following location:

   <Install Directory>\Oracle\Primavera Portfolio Management\Portfolios\bin

2. On each application servers in the distributed setup:
   1. Browse to the following folder:

      <Install Directory>\Oracle\Primavera Portfolio Management\Portfolios\bin\

   2. Run the following command:

      psKeyGenerator.exe Update

If your Primavera Portfolio Management installation is installed on a single server:

1. Browse to the following folder:

   <Install Directory>\Oracle\Primavera Portfolio Management\Portfolios\bin\

2. Run the following command:

   psKeyGenerator.exe Update
