Understanding the Payment Cart in Fluid eBill Payment

The Payment Cart in Fluid eBill Payment uses the Activity Guide framework to guide users through the online payment process. Activity guides are a PeopleTools feature that allows businesses to define guided procedures for a user or group of users to complete. Users are presented with a list of actions, or tasks, that need to be completed to finish the procedure. For more technical information about activity guides, see the product documentation for PeopleTools: Portal Technology.

The steps in the online payment activity change dynamically depending on the payment method that you select in Fluid eBill Payment.

  • Credit Card

    • Step 1 of 3: Invoices to Pay

    • Step 2 of 3: Payment Details

    • Step 3 of 3: Review and Submit

  • Direct Debit

    • Step 1 of 2: Invoices to Pay

    • Step 2 of 2: Review and Submit

  • Electronic Check

    • Step 2 of 2: Review and Submit

  • PayPal

    • Step 1 of 2: Invoices to Pay

    • Step 2 of 2: Review and Submit

The system validates the contents of the Payment Cart during the first step and identifies invoices that contain errors. Errors must be corrected before continuing to the next step. However, if the Payment Cart is empty then the system will automatically redirect user to the Make a Payment Fluid page.

You can navigate between steps and view payment details at each step. After a user submits payment, a payment results page appears for all payment methods. You can navigate back to the first step in the Payment Cart or go to your Fluid homepage.
