Understanding PeopleSoft General Ledger Reporting

The PeopleSoft General Ledger Reporting feature provides prepackaged Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) metadata to help you analyze financial information and determine if you are on track to meet financial goals. With the provided metadata you can create dashboards and reports. Dashboards and reports provide an interactive way to look at the data in the form of charts, graphs, and grids. Security rules ensure that personalized content is generated for specific users. Row-level security is delivered to control access to specific data rows using existing PeopleSoft row-level security & ChartField security setup.

PeopleSoft General Ledger Reporting is built on a single prebuilt metadata repository file (FSCM92_GL_REPORTING.rpd) that consists of physical, business mapping, and presentation metadata layers, which contain common definitions of metrics, hierarchies, and calculations against data stored in PeopleSoft General Ledger. Subject areas are delivered in General Ledger Reporting, which is described in the Presentation Layer topic.

The servers, programs, and tools in OBIEE provide the infrastructure foundation for PeopleSoft General Ledger Reporting. The content of the delivered metadata repository file are objects in OBIEE. Oracle BI Analysis, and Interactive Dashboards are used to create the dashboards and reports. The powerful metadata content that PeopleSoft delivers helps eliminate the need for you to have to create complex mappings and templates for your PeopleSoft General Ledger reporting.

Note: PeopleSoft General Ledger Reporting currently supports only PeopleSoft Base language.
