PIA Install and Reinstall Options

The PeopleSoft Internet Architecture (PIA) installation process enables you to create a new web server (PIA) domain or update a valid existing web server domain. A valid domain is a domain built by the PIA installation process in the PS_CFG_HOME directory that you specify.

Note: You can create a web server domain as part of the DPK setup script process, or using the PIA silent installation process.

When creating a new web server (PIA) domain as part of the DPK setup script process, the process creates a single-server domain by default.

When creating a new domain using the PIA silent installation process, you may select from three configuration types: single-server, multi-server, or distributed managed server. The silent installation also includes various options for updating an existing domain. These options are described in detail in the PeopleSoft installation documentation.

For more information, see PeopleSoft 9.2 Application Installation for your database platform, "Setting Up the PeopleSoft Pure Internet Architecture in Silent Mode."
