Clearing Domains
Clearing a domain removes all content from the domain. All projects, folders, programs, and data, including categories, fields, variables, sequences, and mappings, are cleared. Clearing an Other user created domain allows you to create, or import content into a clean environment. For example, if you try to import a program and receive a notice that the category structure does not match, you will not be able to import that program in to the domain. You can create a new domain or you can clear the old domain if you no longer need any content in there. Clearing the domain removes the previous category structure and enables you to apply the new import program.
Clearing a domain should be done only when nothing in the domain is needed. Make sure this is the action you want to take. Once a domain is cleared, there is no undo. You are asked to confirm your selection twice before the domain is cleared. Any domain can be cleared at any time.
You must have domain management permissions to clear a domain. If the clear domain option is grayed out or unresponsive, you do not have permissions.
- Select the domain type and the domain that you want to clear.
- Right click and select Clear Domain.
- Click OK to clear the domain.
- A second confirmation screen is shown. Click OK to clear the domain. After the Program Explorer tab refreshes, the changes are shown. The domain type will remain. Select Cancel to return to the Program Explorer tab without clearing the domain.
