Upgrade Process

The utility can perform and track a variety of database changes that are necessary to move between application versions. Changes may include database schema updates, required system and business data modifications and business rule syntax updates. These changes may be necessary to support new functionality or non-backward compatible rule engine changes.

Rollback Process

The OIPA rollback utility is a robust feature in the Upgrade Utility application that facilitates the reversion of an OIPA application to its previous state before an upgrade. However, the rollback capability is not available for the source version prior to 11.3.0.0. This utility ensures that any changes made during the upgrade process can be safely undone, restoring the database and application to their prior versions. The rollback process is crucial in scenarios where the upgrade might introduce issues or unforeseen incompatibilities. The Upgrade Utility will not facilitate the rollback of stored procedures and functions. Therefore, it is necessary to manually back up and restore these objects.
