Creating Configuration Packages

In the Configuration Package log, you can create configuration packages that do not have user attribute design included in the package but have custom user attributes, including the picker elements. All the referenced processes must be included in the configuration package. If the custom user attribute is a data picker, the data source and display element will be included in the package, if created successfully after error resolutions.

Prerequisite

Ensure you have created a component list or an add-on component list.

Procedure

Configuration packages are created using the New Configuration Package wizard.

To create configuration packages:

  1. Go to the Company Workspace tab and switch to Admin mode.
  2. In the left Navigator, select Configuration Package Management and then select Configuration Packages.
  3. In the Configuration Packages log (right pane), select + Create to invoke the New Configuration Package wizard.
  4. In the Package Details step, select one or more component lists that have components which refer to the custom user attributes. Enter the following information:
    1. In the Package Name field, enter a user-friendly name for the configuration package.
    2. In the File Name field, enter the file name for the configuration package. Otherwise, defaults to the Package Name entered above.
    3. In the Description field, enter the purpose of the configuration package. Otherwise, defaults to the Package Name entered above.
    4. In the Select one or more component lists section, select the component lists to include in the configuration package, and select Next.
  5. In the Package Components step:
    1. Review all the components selected in the component list, including the data definitions for user data picker and custom user attributes. The referenced user attributes will be included in the package.

For example, the following categories may display for the selected component list: Designs, Configuration, Analytics, and so on.

    2. (Optional) Perform any of the following actions:
      • To search data for each column, select Filter.
      • To print a consolidated report based on selected components, select Print.
    3. Select Next.
  6. (Optional) In the Errors/Warnings step, review any errors or warnings displayed such as dependency errors, inclusion of custom user attributes referenced in the selected components, or user attribute designs missing in the selected component list.
    1. Resolve each type of error or warning as follows:
      • Resolve dependency errors dynamically. After resolving the errors dynamically, select Back to see the results.
      • For other types of errors, save as draft, fix the errors at the application level, and then run the step.
    2. To check for resolved errors or warnings, select Refresh.
    3. Select Next.
  7. In the Create step, select Create to create and publish your configuration package for production.
  8. After creating the package, select Download to download the configuration package zip.
