Creating BP Log Views, BP Mobile Log Views, and QBT Log Views in Admin Mode
Log views are views which drive the content and behavior of the BP logs at runtime. Administrators can create customized default log views that meet the requirements of the company and users.
To access log views for a business process:
- Go to the Company Workspace tab and switch to Admin mode.
- In the left Navigator, select Configuration and then select Business Process.
- In the right pane, select and open the applicable business process.
- In the left Navigator, select the Log Views or Mobile Log Views sub-node.
The following information displays for each log view record:
- Name: The name of the view.
- Status: Displays whether a view is currently Active or Inactive. However, the status of a QBT Log view is always set to Inactive by default to prevent it’s use as a standard BP log view.
- QBT Log: Indicates Yes if the view is designated as a query-based tab (QBT) log. Use this view for BPs that have a QBT defined in their referenced business process.
- Last Modified Date: The date that the view was last modified. For a new view, this will be the creation date. This field is initially blank for existing system-defined views that have not been modified.
- Last Modified By: The name of the user who last modified the view. This field is initially blank for existing system-defined views that have not been modified.
- Use the following toolbar icons to perform any of the following tasks:
- To create log views, select + Create.
- To activate, reorder, or delete inactive log views, select Manage Views.
- To refresh the list of log views, select Refresh (
). - To locate a specific view on the displayed page, select Find on Page (
).
- To perform any of the following actions, right-click on a record in the Log View and select the gear menu (
):- Reorder the BP log views by selecting Move Up or Move Down.
- Change the status of a BP log view by selecting Active or Inactive. At least one BP log view must be active.
- Identify the BP log view or mobile BP log view to be used to view records displayed in a query-based tab by selecting QBT Log. Only one view can be designated as the QBT Log view. The status of the QBT Log view will be set to Inactive to prevent it from being used as a standard log view.
- If a QBT log or a mobile log view is not defined, the BP log from uDesigner will be used for QBT.
- Delete an inactive log view by selecting Delete.
Creating or Accessing Log Views in User Mode
To access the Log Views node or create log views for a business process in the User mode, users must have the Configuration permission.
When users configure Business Processes (BPs), they can also create log views for the BPs in the projects they have access to at the project level and company level. The views defined for the BPs are applicable to both BP logs and the Master Log - Business Processes log.
Note:
- Users cannot create two BP log views with the same name for a single BP.
- When a user changes the sequence of the BP log views that were initially provided according to the BP configuration, the user's sequence is retained even if the administrator makes changes to the sequence.
BP Log Views at Runtime
BP Mobile log views are a part of BP configuration. Only active views will be seen at run-time. All active views pertaining to a mobile-enabled BP can be seen by all users who have access to the log.
