Thin Client with Docupresentment (IDS) for Standard Edition

The thin-client WIP model was enabled within the Enterprise Edition (ODEE) in prior versions. In this version we have ensured that the mobile/thin-client model can be launched and communicate directly with the Docupresentment (IDS) server.

Along with this support, a new ODSE Thin-Client Demo application now exists that can be downloaded and used a reference for implementing or modifying and existing implementation to use the thin-client WIP model.

Keep in mind that this does not impact any existing APIs being used except the messaging specific to the launching of WIP edit.

Enabling the new thin-client WIP requires a configuration change in the docserv.xml.

As described in the regular documentation, the thin-client model does not support client-side DAL scripting and certain other functionality supported by the former (full) WIP Edit client application. Reports are available within DMStudio that will help identify items within forms and sections that you may wish to review. Look for the “Thin-client Readiness” reports.
