About Navigating the Catalog in Siebel Open UI
The user navigates through the catalog using separate applets, each having its own renderer and modeler.
The Quote Catalog List Applet OUI Drop-Down Applet
The renderer for this applet is responsible for displaying the accessible catalogs to the user in a drop-down control. To customize the applet, use the manifest administration functionality to reference a new renderer or a new model for the drop-down. For more information, see Configuring Siebel Open UI.
When the user works with the Catalog drop-down list, this list displays the catalogs that are available to the user each time the view is refreshed. The catalogs that are available depend on the access control features described in Assigning Access to Catalogs.
When the user selects a catalog, the child applet supported by the tree explorer control displays the appropriate categories for the user.
To change this behavior of the tree applet, you must modify the renderer or model file. To customize the applet, use the manifest administration functionality to reference a new renderer or a new model for the tree explorer. For more information, see Configuring Siebel Open UI.
The Category Explorer Applet
The Category Explorer applet provides a collapsed view of all visible categories when the catalog is selected.
If the user selects the expand icon of the category without placing the cursor on the category, the control opens the category and navigates the cursor to highlight the first available subcategory. The Category Products applet displays the products of the highlighted category.
When the user selects a category without clicking the expand icon, the category remains in its current state and the available products of the Category Products applet are displayed.
When the user navigates to a different root category within the same catalog, the previously expanded root category is collapsed.
