List and Page Navigation Using the Mouse Wheel

The mouse wheel (the scroll wheel of a computer mouse) is supported for list and page navigation in Siebel CRM applications on all supported touch and non-touch devices. You can use the mouse wheel to navigate between records in lists and to move up and down a page. Depending on the direction of the mouse wheel scroll, the following table describes the behavior of the mouse wheel.

Direction of Mouse Wheel Scroll Description

Press SHIFT and roll the mouse wheel away from your body (move mouse wheel up).

Moves to the previous record set.

Press SHIFT and roll the mouse wheel towards your body (move mouse wheel down).

Moves to the next record set.

Roll the mouse wheel away from your body (move mouse wheel up).

Scrolls up the page.

Roll the mouse wheel towards your body (move mouse wheel down).

Scrolls down the page.

On touch devices (such as a Tablet or touch-enabled laptop) and on non-touch devices (such as a desktop), infinite scrolling and mouse wheel/trackpad based scrolling are supported.

  • Mouse wheel/trackpad based scrolling. This is where content is loaded as described in the previous table.

  • Infinite scrolling. This is where content is loaded continuously as a user scrolls down a page, eliminating the need for pagination. Infinite scrolling applies whether using the mouse wheel or finger touch/swipe to navigate content in Siebel Business Applications.

Keyboard Alternatives to Using the Mouse Wheel

Rather than using the mouse wheel, the keyboard alternatives that you can use to navigate between records in lists and to move up and down a page in Siebel Business Applications include the following:

  • Touch-enabled devices, page scroll. Use finger touch/swipe in the required direction.

  • Touch-enabled devices, list scroll. Focus on the list applet (using mouse pointer or tab), then hold the SHIFT key and swipe up or down in the required direction.

  • All devices. Use keyboard shortcuts – for more information, see Keyboard Navigation and Shortcuts, specifically Record Navigation Keyboard Shortcuts.
