Setting Encryption on the Local Database Password
You can encrypt the local database password.
To set encryption on the local database password
- Make sure the Siebel Server and the parameters in the configuration file are configured to allow for encryption. - For more information, see Process of Configuring Encryption and Authentication for the Remote Client. 
- When you run a database extract, set the following parameter to TRUE: - Encrypt client Db password (alias EncryptLocalDbPwd) Note: Password encryption interferes with project checkin and checkout. If the developer checks projects in and out, then you must not use password encryption in the remote client. When you run a database extract, do the following, set EncryptLocalDbPwd to FALSE.- For more information about: - Parameters, see Parameters of the Database Extract Server Component.
