Upgrading to 64-bit JRE Support for the Siebel IMAP and POP3 Drivers

Formerly, Siebel CRM used the 32-bit JRE. However, Oracle no longer supports the 32-bit JRE on certain platforms, such as Solaris. As of Siebel CRM 21.3 Update, to continue to use Siebel Email Response, you must upgrade to the latest 64-bit JRE. The functionality of these drivers remains the same. The upgrade includes the following modules:

  • Email driver. Loaded by the Siebel Communication Inbound Manager (CommInboundMgr) component and uses HTTP to access the email servlet.

  • Email servlet. Hosted by the Apache Tomcat server (on the Siebel Server), which leverages the JavaMail IMAP implementation.

To upgrade to 64–bit JRE, perform the necessary steps in the following tasks, in the order shown:

  1. Obtaining and Importing the Certificate

  2. Configuring Driver Parameters for the 64-bit JRE

  3. Viewing Deployment Files and Configuring Log files
