Configuring a Siebel Mobile Disconnected Application for Siebel Clinical

Use the following procedure to configure a Siebel Mobile disconnected application for Siebel Clinical.

To configure a Siebel Mobile disconnected application for Siebel Clinical

  1. Log in to the Siebel Clinical application as administrator.

  2. Navigate to the Administration - Server Configuration screen, then the Enterprises, Component Definitions view and do the following:

    1. Query for the Mobile Data Extraction (ENU) component, make a copy of the record, and then set the following record values:

    2. Select the eClinicalMobileDbXtract_enu component and set the following parameters for the component:

      Name

      Value

      Application Name

      Siebel eClinical Mobile

      Language Code

      ENU

      OM - Configuration File

      eclinicalm.cfg

      Application Splashtext

      Siebel Clinical Mobile

      Application Title

      Siebel Clinical Mobile

    3. Click Activate to activate the new eClinical Mobile Data Extraction (ENU) component.

    4. Click Synchronize to synchronize the eClinical Mobile Data Extraction (ENU) component

  3. Navigate to the Synchronize view, and click Synchronize.

  4. Navigate to the Component Definition view, and do the following:

    1. Select the eClinicalMObjMgr_enu component and set the following parameters for the component:

      Name

      Value

      EnableInlineForList

      Never

      EnableOfflineMode

      True

    2. Query for each of the following component groups:

      HandheldSync

      HandheldSyncSIS

      Siebel Remote

      MobileSync

    3. For each of these component groups:

      • Select the component group and then click Enable.

      • In the Component Group Assignments applet, click Enable.

  5. Restart Siebel Services and Siebel Gateway.

  6. Navigate to the Administration - Server Management screen, then the Jobs view and do the following:

    1. Create a new job with the parameter values shown in the following table:

      Name: Client Name

      Job Parameter

      Value: <USER ID>-MOBILE

    2. Submit the job.

      The status of the job changes to Success when the database extraction job is successful.

One-Time Activity for Customers with existing Site Visit Records

Note: Check if you meet the following three criteria:
  1. You are upgrading to the 24.4 release

  2. Planning to use the Mobile Disconnected Application

  3. Have existing Site Visit records

Then, there is a mandatory one-time activity required to update the Page_id on existing Site Visits In order to use the mobile app.

To update the existing Site Visit records

  1. Log in as an Admin user to Siebel Clinical.

  2. Navigate to Administration > Server Management.

    1. In the Job list, click New

    2. In the Component/Job field, click the dropdown list and select Workflow Process Manager

  3. In the Jobs Parameters list, add parameters for the component as:

    1. For the parameter Workflow Process Name enter Value = ‘LS Clinical Populate Smartscript Page’

  4. In Jobs list, click Submit Job.

    1. The Status will change from Creating → Queued → Active while executing the job.

    2. When the Job completes, the status will show Success.
