Configuring Pagelets
This topic discusses how to set up pagelets and group boxes as a System Administrator.
Note: In PeopleSoft Classic, My Work and Links are considered pagelets. In PeopleSoft Fluid, My Work and Links are considered group boxes. There are collapsible sections within pagelets and group boxes, such as Current Work and Exceptions. The name of a page may not follow this standard, because PeopleSoft Classic WorkCenters were created before PeopleSoft Fluid WorkCenters.

The WorkCenter Framework provides the ability to embed interactive insights dashboards in My Work links in a Fluid WorkCenter.
Note: This feature, when implemented, is not supported in small form factor. The minimum required PeopleTools version is 8.62. HCM plans to implement this feature in WorkCenters in future update images.
This feature enables administrators to drill into dashboard visualizations and interact with data using My Work links directly and intuitively, improving user experience and productivity.
When a WorkCenter user selects a My Work link that has an embedded insights dashboard, which can have one or more visualizations, the system displays the dashboard using filters (or scope values) that were set up for the corresponding My Work link on the Maintain Scope Detail page (EOWC_EDITVIEWLK_FL). As the user interacts with the insights dashboard and makes changes to filters, the system automatically refreshes the data grid below it to display the latest set of transaction data based on selected dashboard filters.
System administrators who set up Fluid WorkCenters can choose to display or hide embedded insights dashboards from My Work links. Similarly, WorkCenter users can choose to display or hide them through personalization.
To embed an interactive insights dashboard in a Fluid WorkCenter:
(System-defined links only) Use the Define System My Work Links page (FSPC_SYS_MYWORK) to confirm that the Has Insight check box is selected for the My Work link that you wish to embed an insights dashboard. This check box is preselected if the My Work link is delivered with the ability to support embedded insights dashboards.
Use the Configure Pagelets - My Work Page to set up the My Work link to display an insights dashboard for the selected Fluid WorkCenter, which includes:
Enable the Show Insight check box for the My Work link, and specify the insights dashboard to display.
Note: If the My Work link you wish to embed an insights dashboard is user-defined, the Show Insight check box is not editable by default on the Configure Pagelets - My Work Page. To enable the check box, you need to first select the Define link for the user-defined My Work link and select the Has Insight check box on the Define My Work Link Page page that appears.
Use the Map WC Filters link to create mappings between WorkCenter filters and insights dashboard search definition attributes.
Use the Map Grid Fields link to create mappings between insight dashboard search definition attributes and My Work grid fields.
Select the Activate My Work Settings button to save and apply these changes to all users.
Use the Deploy Insights Dashboards page to make sure that the specified insights dashboard is deployed.
For more information about deploying insights dashboards, see PeopleTools: Search Technology, "Working with Insights Dashboards for PeopleSoft Application Data," Managing a Delivered Dashboard.
Use the Configure Insights Dashboard - Page Level tab to make sure that the specified insights dashboard is registered. For users to be able to interact with the embedded insights dashboard, the Interactive option must be enabled.
For more information about embedding insights dashboards in application pages, see PeopleTools: Search Technology, "Working with Insights Dashboards for PeopleSoft Application Data," Creating a Visualization for Application Data.
Personalization
Users can show or hide embedded interactive insights dashboards from the Fluid WorkCenter on the Personalize page (EOWC_PERSONAL_FL) as needed, if users are allowed to personalize display options on the Configure Pagelets - My Work Page.
For more information about Fluid WorkCenter personalization, see
PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2: Application Fundamentals, "Setting Up and Personalizing PeopleSoft Fluid WorkCenters."
PeopleSoft HCM 9.2: Application Fundamentals, "Setting Up and Personalizing PeopleSoft Fluid WorkCenters."
Use the Configure Pagelets – WorkCenter/Dashboard page (FSPC_ADMIN_MAIN) to define configuration IDs for Classic WorkCenters, Fluid WorkCenters, and Dashboards.
Navigation:
This example illustrates the fields and controls on the Configure Pagelets – WorkCenter/Dashboard Page.

Use this page to add or maintain the configuration of Classic pagelets, Fluid group boxes, or both. You can determine if the configuration is to be used in a Classic WorkCenter, Fluid WorkCenter, or Classic Dashboard, by entering the menu item in which the WorkCenter or Dashboard should appear.
Create one configuration ID for each combination of Classic WorkCenter, Fluid WorkCenter, and Dashboard for your organization.
Each menu item cannot be associated with more than one configuration ID:
Classic WorkCenter menu items are defined in the Manage WorkCenter Pages component.
Fluid WorkCenter menu items are defined using the PeopleTools Structure and Content page.
Classic Dashboard menu items are defined in the Portal as Homepage tabs.
Note: The data that is entered using this page can also be loaded as an Application Data Set using the Data Migration Workbench. For more information about ADS and the Data Migration Workbench for FSCM applications, see PeopleSoft Application Fundamentals documentation, Working with and Personalizing WorkCenters, Using the Data Migration Workbench for PeopleSoft WorkCetners.

Administrators should use caution when selecting this option because it could slow system performance. You should evaluate the show count option on a link by link basis. If you find that one link encounters a performance problem, then you should consider deselecting the Show Count check box for that link. You do not have to be consistent with the Show Count check box from link to link. If you deselect the Show Count check box for a link, then the link remains active if there are transactions to review. If the Allow User to Personalize the Display Options check box is selected, this check box is also displayed on the Personalization page for the end user. |
Show Link |
Select to indicate that the link is displayed on the pagelet. PeopleSoft delivers some links that a system administrator may choose to hide from end users. If this is the case, then select this check box. This allows system administrators to preserve the link definition, if they decide to display the link at a later time. If the Allow User to Personalize the Display Options check box is selected, this check box is also displayed on the Personalization page for the end user. |
