Notifying Administrators of Setup Table Updates
Enterprise Components provides the ability to notify administrators when updates in setup tables impact search definitions and the updates cannot be processed automatically by incremental indexing.
Starting in release 8.62, PeopleTools Search Framework provides automated incremental indexing that monitors data changes in the database and schedules incremental indexing as needed based on configuration.
In situations where incremental indexing is not supported, for example, in setup tables (such as Country Table) that rarely change and do not have a date or datetime field to track when data was last updated, Enterprise Components provides the ability to notify administrators when data changes in these tables occur. The system delivers the NotifyAdministratorOnSearchDefinitionImpact notification ID in Notification Composer that sends notifications (available in in-app and email) to administrators (who have the Search Administrator user role) when setup tables are updated and these data changes impact search definitions. Selecting the notification or notification link takes administrators to the Impacted Search Definitions Page where they can view a list of search definitions impacted by the corresponding setup table data change, and schedule a full index on those search definitions as needed.
The delivered user role and permission list to use this feature are EOIS Impacted Searches and EOIS1000 respectively.
Note: This feature is currently supported in HCM starting with Update Image 53.
Note: For future uptake of this administrator notification feature, use the Search tracking group. Enter the tracking group value Administrator Notification for Search.
