Using Visual Indicators

Indicators are a special type of user-defined field (UDF) that enable you or other users to select icons (such as , , , and ) to display as values in columns to highlight specific activities, activity steps, activity resource assignments, documents, projects, resources, risks, WBS elements, expenses, and issues.

To configure and apply user-defined indicators:

  1. On the  Navigation Menu, expand  Administration and click Enterprise Data.
  2. On the Enterprise Data page, expand a group and select a UDF entry.

    For example, expand Activities and click Activity UDFs.

  3. On the UDFs page:
    1. Click  Add.
    2. Enter a name for the UDF and then select Indicator from the Data Type list.
    3. Click Save.
  4. Navigate to the page where you want to display the color-coded indicator field, such as Activities, EPS, or Risks, and add the indicator field to the table. Depending on the page, click  Customize View.
  5. In the Indicator field, select a color-coded visual indicator from the list.
  6. Click Save.
