Assigning XBRL Units

You can set XBRL Units on grids, columns, and cells in a column. The XBRL Units you assigned to a grid may not be true for all columns or cells. If this is the case, you can modify the units of individual columns or cells. For example, if the unit for a grid is labeled as Monetary USD, but a number of those columns or cells are Non-Monetary/Shares, you can change the setting in those areas. Select a column or cell you want to change, and use the following procedures to modify their unit assignment.

  To set XBRL Units:

  1. Open a report for which you want to create an XBRL instance document.

  2. Select a grid, columns, or cells.

  3. Select XBRL Unit located on the property sheet (to create a new XBRL Unit, click Search icon.)

  4. Select an XBRL Unit from the drop-down list.
