How do I view a file or details about a file or folder?

Viewing files

  1. Tap the file name.

  2. When viewing a multi-page file, tap anywhere on the screen to see thumbnails of the pages in the file. Tap any thumbnail to view that page. The current page number and the total number of pages is displayed at the top of the screen (for example, 1/33). Tap that designation to jump to a specific page.

If you want to use another app to view a file, tap the more menu icon and then tap Open With. Select the app to use. The listed apps are those installed on your device that can be used to open the file.

Viewing file or folder details

You may need to find out when a file was created or who created it. Or maybe you want to see when a folder was last updated and who updated it. Use the Properties page to see information about an item. Tap the more menu icon and then tap View Properties in your list of files. You can also tap the info icon when viewing a file.

To see details for a folder, tap the more menu icon and then tap View Properties for the folder.

Seeing version history

To see the version history of a file while viewing the file, tap the info icon and then tap Version History. You can delete versions or email versions of the file, or make an older file the current version. Tap the More icon on the version you want to use to select those options.
