Import data into security realms

Before you begin

Understand when you would want to migrate security data. See Overview of Security Data Migration.

Understand the concepts associated with importing and exporting security data. See Migration Concepts.

Export security data from the other security realm, noting the directory in which the exported data is saved. See Export data from security realms.

As described in Export data from security realms, you can export the security data from all the security providers in a security realm into a file, and then import the data into a different realm. As an alternative, you can export the security data from a single security provider and then import that data into another security provider, as described in Export data from a security provider and Import data into a security provider. To import security data into a security realm:

  1. In the left pane of the Administration Console, select Security Realms.
  2. Select the security realm into which the security data is to be imported.
  3. Expand Migration > Import and specify the directory location that contains the exported security data in the Import Directory on Server field.
  4. Click Save.

After you finish

To verify the security data was imported correctly:

  1. Open the Security Realms page.
  2. Select the realm into which the security data was imported.
  3. Expand Users and Groups > Users and verify that the appropriate user IDs have been imported.
