Target WTC servers

Before you begin

Deciding when to target a WTC server is very important. Once a WTC server is targeted, the configuration deployed to the selected server instance is static. Although you can continue to make changes in your WTC server configuration, any changes made after the configuration is deployed will not be reflected in the selected server instance. You will need to remove the WTC server from the server instance and target the WTC server to the server instance for these changes to take effect.

Targeting deploys the connectivity information contained in a WTC server configuration to a selected server instance. Although you may have many WTC server configurations in the current WebLogic Server domain, only one WTC server configuration can be targeted to any given server instance.

To target a WTC server:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the Administration Console, expand Interoperability and select WTC Servers.
  3. On the WTC Servers page, select the name of the WTC server you want to target.
  4. Select Targets.
  5. Select the server instance on which you want to target this WTC server.
  6. Click Save.
  7. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
