Viewing and Editing List Data

You can select the View and Edit Data List option in one of two ways:

  • Click Data > Profile Lists (Not seeing this choice? Refer to the Side navigation bar changes topic.), then click View Records for your list.
  • On the Folders page, select the folder containing the List, click next to the List name, and select View and Edit Data.

Page Navigation

When you initially open the page, the default view displays all the system- and custom-defined fields, and any customer records that may have already been entered. Display navigation includes the following.

  • Selecting Records – Use checkboxes next to records, and/or the Select All/Clear All options to identify which records you want to edit or delete.
  • Moving from Page to Page – Page side-arrows direct you from one page to another.
  • Number of Lines per Page – Click link to change number of displayed records for each page.
  • Record Count – Displayed at the top of the table.
  • Character Setting (Charset) – Identifies character set used to display records.

    Note: All Lists are stored with UTF-8 encoding.

Picking List View

Click Pick View Columns to choose which columns/fields to display when viewing a List.

Adding, Editing, Copying, and Deleting List Records

The View and Edit Data page displays all the fields and customer records in the selected List. You may use this page to directly add to or alter the containing records.

Note: For filters, SQL, Join views, and Supplemental filters – Adding, editing, copying, and deleting List records is not available. Only Find is an option for these features.

  • Editing and Copying existing List records – Click Edit to change any values for selected or copied records. Click Save after editing each record. When finished with all records, click Done. See Editing, Copying, and Deleting List Records for details.
  • Deleting Records – Click Delete to remove checked records (and all their values) from the selected List. (You will be prompted to confirm your request before deletion completes.)

    Note: Deleting individual customer records is also available via the Edit List Records page.

  • If no records are checked and a displayed Find is not in affect, all displayed List records are deleted. You can delete an entire List by selecting it on the Folders page. See Deleting Lists for details, and special handling.
  • Adding Records – Click New Record to directly enter new customer records by filling in pertinent field values. Click Save after creating each record. When finished, click Done. See Loading Lists from Files for details about importing records, and Creating List Records for direct-entry creation.

Finding List Records

Click Find to search on specific customer data and display only records matching your criteria. See Finding List Data Records for details.

Note: For filters, SQL, Join views, and Supplemental filters – Only the Find option is available.

Picking List View

The Pick View option allows you to refine the displayed List of active customer records appearing in the View and Edit Data page, and used in association with campaigns, programs, etc.

Click Pick View to choose which columns/fields to display when viewing a List or other data source.

You may also set multi-channel (email, mobile, and print) campaign communications for your List (click All Channels) or specifically choose one channel for interactions with the customers in your List. Your List then only displays records (based on your selection) for customers via one or all channels. See Picking List Views for details.

Downloading List Records

Click Download. On the Folders page, you can also click s next to List name.

Click Download to save the selected (checked) records as a delimited, comma separated value (.CSV) formatted text file.

If no records are selected, but a Find Record filter is in affect, only those “found” and displayed records are downloaded. If no records are selected and a displayed Find is not in affect, all displayed List records are downloaded.
