You can use user-defined attributes (UDAs)—words or phrases describing a characteristic of members—within calculation scripts, member formulas, and reports so that they return lists of members associated with the specified UDA. For example, if you have a Product dimension with various product members, you could create a UDA called New Products and base certain calculations only on new products. Creating UDAs is a three-step process:

  1. Create one or more UDA dimensions. See User-Defined Attribute Dimensions.

  2. Create a dimension association between the UDA property and the UDA dimension.

  3. Create UDA members.
