This graphic shows the call flow of a session during which the QoS level is changed several times. The network nodes are listed right to left: End User, Video Server, PCRF, and AF (OCSG). The call sequence starts with the end user logging into the video server. The video server then sends a Diameter Rx CCR message to the PCRF, which then returns a CCA. A QoS feature profile of 256Kbps is applied. The user then pays for the video, and then plays it (video server streams the movie back to the end user). The end user decides that the play quality is poor, so they apply for a higher QoS.to the AF. The AF sends an AAR message to the PCRF, which then returns an AAA. The the AF and PCRF exchange RAR and RAA messages. The video server applies a 5Mb bandwidth connection. The user pays for the service and plays the video at the higher rate.
