The figure displays a one-way and two-way SMS logical flow. For a one-way SMS flow, the SMPP client communicates with remote SMSCs. The SMS channel then converts enqueued messages to SMS messages and sends the message to the mobile device. A two-way SMS flow is similar to a one-way SMS flow, except that the two-way SMS is able to send and receive emails to and from remote devices and remote device email origination.
