This figure represents the topological elements in the Example sizing deployment for Chicago and Minneapolis. The Chicago and Minneapolis mail clients send their mail to the MMP, and the MMP connects and delivers the mail to the Directory Server and Messaging Servers. If the mail is for internal clients, it is delivered directly to the Messaging Servers and back again to the clients. If the mail is for external users, it must be sent through outbound MTAs and then directed to the Internet. Incoming mail from external users must pass through two Internet firewalls as well as an inbound MTA before the mail is delivered to the Messaging Servers.
