This preface contains:
The following are changes in Oracle Application Express Installation Guide for Oracle Application Express release 5.0.
The following features are new in this release:
Oracle Application Express supports Oracle Database 12c multitenant architecture. See "Utilizing the Multitenant Architecture in Oracle Database 12c."
Same Installation Script for all Architecture Types
Oracle Application Express release 5.0 features a simplified, streamlined installation process. In earlier releases, you ran a different installation script depending upon the target architecture (that is, multitenant or non-multitent). For example, in Oracle Application Express release 4.2.6 you would run apexins.sql
for a non-multitenant architecture and apexins_con.sql
for a multitenant architecture. In Oracle Application Express release 5.0, you run just one installation script, apexins.sql
, for all target architectures.
See "Deprecated Features" and "Desupported Features" in Oracle Application Express Release Notes.
The following are additional changes in the release:
All content has been updated to reflect release 5.0 functionality.
