Understand AI functionality, activation requirements, and model provider details across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services and database products and services.
This reference identifies OCI services, database services, and database products that have documented AI functionality. It also identifies whether each AI capability is active by default or requires customer configuration.

The following activation requirement values are used in the category tables:

Auto enabled: The AI capability ships active by default and can be disabled by an administrator.

Customer opt in: No AI processing occurs unless the customer explicitly configures the AI capability.

NA: The product or service doesn't have identified AI functionality.

Taxonomy Definitions
Use the following definitions to interpret the reference tables.

Service or Product: The official customer-facing name of the OCI service, database service, or database product. Names match Oracle Cloud Service Descriptions or public Oracle documentation where available.

AI Functionality: Indicates whether the OCI service includes documented AI capabilities. AI functionality may include generative AI, machine learning, model inference, agents, embeddings, classification, recommendations, predictions, natural language processing, speech, vision, document understanding, or other model-based behavior. A service is marked Yes only when Oracle documentation or service specifications describe AI, ML, GenAI, model, agent, or similar AI-system behavior. Automation, rules, workflow logic, analytics, monitoring, search, or configuration controls aren't treated as AI functionality.

AI Activation Requirement: Explains whether the AI functionality is active by default or requires customer action before use. Auto enabled means the AI capability is active when the customer uses the relevant service or feature, without a separate AI-specific enablement step. Customer opt in means the AI capability isn't used until the customer affirmatively enables, configures, selects, deploys, invokes the AI capability. NA applies when the service doesn't have identified AI functionality.

Model Provider: Identifies the company or provider associated with the AI model, model family, or AI capability used by the service. Examples may include Oracle, Cohere, Meta, OpenAI, Google, xAI, NVIDIA or other.

Oracle Managed: The AI capability is provided through an Oracle-Managed service or feature. Oracle manages the model access and integration; the customer doesn't separately deploy or host the model.

Oracle Platform: Oracle provides the platform, infrastructure, or tooling that enables the customer to deploy, configure, train, tune, or invoke AI/ML models. In this case, the customer controls the model choice and usage through their own configuration, so the specific model provider or model family may vary by customer implementation.

AI Model or Family: Identifies the specific model, model family, or model class associated with the AI functionality, where documented. Examples may include GPT, Llama, Grok, Gemini, Cohere Command, Cohere Embed, Oracle pretrained NLP models, Oracle Vision models, or another documented model family.
