Adding Apache Flume to a ODH Clusters

  1. Access Apache Ambari.
  2. From the side toolbar, select the ... icon in Services and select Add Service.
    The Add Service Wizard opens.
  3. In the Choose Services step, select Flume, and then select Next.
  4. In the Assign Masters step, keep the default setting for Ranger and select Next.
  5. Select the Nodes to install Flume Agents (by default a worker node is selected), and then select Next.
  6. Select Next.
  7. Review the configuration, and then select Next.
  8. Review the configuration, and then select Deploy.
  9. Wait for the installation to complete, and then select Next.
  10. Select Complete.
  11. Restart all the required services from Service menu.
  12. To verify a successful installation, access Apache Flume from Apache Ambari dashboard, and then select Actions to Run Service check.
    Note

    This installs Flume Agents on selected nodes only. To configure Flume source, channel and sinks, follow this documentation.
