Adding Apache HBase to ODH Clusters

You can add Apache HBase to Big Data Service clusters using Ambari.

Note

Apache HBase is already installed on HBase cluster profile. Therefore, if a Big Data Service cluster is created using the Kafka profile, adding HBase isn't required. For more information of cluster profiles, see Cluster Profile Types.

  1. Access Apache Ambari.
  2. Select Add Service from Services menu.
  3. From the Add Service Wizard, select HBase, and then select Next.
  4. Select HBase Master (Recommended is mn0 for NHA cluster, mn0 and mn1 for HA clusters), and then select Next.
  5. Under Assign Slaves and Clients page, select worker nodes for RegionServer (we recommend three or more), select all nodes for Client, and then select Next.
  6. Review the configuration value, customize if required, and then select Next.
  7. Select PROCEED ANYWAY.
  8. Select Deploy.
  9. Wait for the installation to complete, and then select Next.
  10. Select Complete.
  11. Restart all the required services from Service menu.
  12. To verify a successful installation, access HBase from Apache Ambari dashboard, and then select Actions > Run Service check.
