Configuring Ranger Admin HA in Ambari

  1. Access Apache Ambari.
  2. From the side toolbar, under Services select Ranger.
  3. Select Actions, and then select Enable Ranger Admin HA.

  4. Provide the load balancer URL.

    Example:

    https://<<lb-hostname>>:6182

    The lb-hostname was created in Updating Host Entry to Add Load Balancer Private IP.

  5. In the Additional Ranger Admin field, select a host. For example, a un1 host.
  6. Select Next, and review changes.
  7. Select Next, and wait for the installation to complete.
    Note

    Sometimes Load Balancer takes time and the Health Check might fail. In such cases, close the wizard and go to the OCI console and verify both Ranger Admin hosts are reported correctly under backend sets.
  8. Select Complete, and restart all required services.
