Verifying Ranger HA

  1. Sign in to Ranger using Ranger Load Balancer public IP. For example: https://<<ranger-lb-public-ip>>:6182.
  2. Ensure it redirects to one of the Ranger Admin pages.
  3. Sign in to Ranger using username and password.
  4. Select Audit > Plugin Status.
  5. Policy Download and Active time should be recent.

    After HA is enabled there should be at least one policy download.

  6. Stop un0 Ranger admin, and then access the load balancer URL.
    The Ranger Admin sign in page is displayed.
  7. Start Ranger admin on un0.
  8. Stop Ranger Admin on un1.
  9. To access the sign in page, access the load balancer URL.
  10. After both Ranger Admin accesses are verified (stopping one another), be sure to start both of the services.
