Exadata Infrastructure

This topic explains how to scale an Exadata Infrastructure and modify tags.

Note

Once your Exadata Infrastructure is provisioned, you can not modify any of its attributes other than tags.
  • Scale an Exadata Infrastructure

    These are the steps to scale an Exadata Infrastructure.
    Note

    When you create an Exadata Infrastructure, you can not scale it from the Azure portal. You must use the OCI console to perform the steps to scale your Exadata Infrastructure successfully.
    Scale an Exadata Infrastructure is only available through the OCI Console and OCI CLI. To navigate to the OCI console, complete the following steps:
    1. From the Azure portal, select Oracle Database@Azure.
    2. From the left navigation menu, select Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure.
    3. Click the Oracle Exadata Infrastructures tab, and then select your Exadata Infrastructure that you want to modify.
    4. From the Overview page, expand the Essentials section, and then select the Go to OCI link.This screenshot shows the first step how to scale an Exadata Infrastructure.

    Tags

    These are the steps to modify tags from Oracle Database@Azure.
    1. From the Azure portal, select Oracle Database@Azure.
    2. From the left navigation menu, select Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure.
    3. Click the Oracle Exadata Infrastructures tab, and then select your Exadata Infrastructure that you want to modify.
    4. From the left navigation menu , select the Tags link.
    5. You can add, remove or modify Tags based on the requirements.This screenshot shows how to modify tags.
    6. Once you enter your information, select the Apply button to save the changes.
  • Scale an Exadata Infrastructure
    1. From the OCI console, navigate to Exadata Infrastructure that you are using.
    2. From the Exadata Infrastructure Information tab, click the Scale Infrastructure button.This screenshot shows how to scale an Exadata Infrastructure.
    3. From the Scale Exadata Infrastructure page, complete the following substeps:
      1. From the Compute section, use the down or up arrows to select the number of database servers. You can have a minumum of 2 and a maximum of 32 database servers.
      2. From the Storage section, use the down or up arrows to select the number of database servers. You can have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 64 storage servers.
