Metadata Properties in Fleet Application Management

Manage and define global metadata elements to be used as properties for different types of fleets in Fleet Application Management.

Fleet Application Management contains two types of properties:

  • Platform configuration properties: These properties are defined by Fleet Application Management and available for use. You can't delete these properties. However, you can use and update them. The properties are as follows:
    • Patch Bucket Name (Platform Config): Specifies the Object Storage bucket  name where the Oracle WebLogic Server patches are uploaded, and Fleet Application Management can access these patches and apply them.
    • Environment type (Platform Config): Specifies environment types such as stage, production, development, UAT, and test. These values are available for selection when creating an environment-type fleet.
  • Fleet Application Management administrator-defined properties: You create these properties using business terminology and a metadata classification that you can define for your business operations, for example, financial ownership, cost center of an organization, and business-critical applications (tier-1, tier-2 applications.) The cost center property can further have several cost centers as selection values for various units of an organization. You can associate any of these properties with a fleet.
    Note

Only a Fleet Application Management administrator in an organization can manage and define properties. These tasks aren't required actions for the Fleet Application Management administrator. After the Fleet Application Management administrator defines properties, you can associate these properties with fleets.
