Learn about the steps and best practices around Oracle Multicloud Universal Credits (MUC) purchase and onboarding.

As part of the Multicloud Universal Credits purchase you have the choice to select two or more hyperscalers including OCI. After you sign the Oracle Multicloud Universal Credits contract, you receive three (3) or more emails from Oracle on adding the subscription to a cloud account (OCI). We recommend you take action using the following order:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Multicloud Universal Credits

You receive an email to add the Multicloud Universal Credits subscription to a cloud account (OCI tenancy). You have the choice to use either an existing OCI account (tenancy) or create a new one. The following considerations apply while choosing the OCI tenancy:

  • New OCI Tenancy:
    • Select the Create new cloud account option in the email and follow the steps to complete the association of the Multicloud Universal Credits subscription to this newly created tenancy.
  • Existing OCI Tenancy:
    • The tenancy can be a regular or a child tenancy. To learn more, check Child Tenancy Management.
    • A tenancy that has never been used for Multicloud linking—such as Oracle AI Database@Azure, Oracle AI Database@Google Cloud, Oracle AI Database@AWS—is preferred and can be associated with a Multicloud Universal Credits (MUC) subscription.
    • A tenancy previously used for Multicloud linking can be associated with a Multicloud Universal Credits (MUC) subscription only when the hyperscalers in the MUC purchase don't overlap with the tenancy's existing Multicloud subscription.
Note

The MUC subscription, also known as Primary subscription, contains your commitment balance and can be used to view and manage spend against your commitment. The MUC subscription is not intended to be used for consuming Oracle Cloud services.

Oracle PaaS and IaaS Universal Credits

You receive an email to add the Universal Credits subscription to a cloud account (OCI). Select the Add to existing cloud account option in the email and use the same OCI tenancy that you have used at the previous step (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Multicloud Universal Credits).

Oracle PaaS and IaaS Universal Credits - Azure Multicloud

If you plan to use Oracle AI Database@Azure and have added it in the Multicloud Universal Credits contract, Oracle sends you an email to complete the purchase and Multicloud linking at the Azure Portal. Follow the steps as outlined at Accept a Private Offer and Purchase a Private Offer to complete the purchase. After the purchase is complete, follow the steps as outlined at Link an Existing OCI Account to Oracle AI Database@Azure (Private Offer Only). On this Multicloud linking step, you're required to use the same OCI tenancy that you have used at the earlier step, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Multicloud Universal Credits.

Oracle PaaS and IaaS Universal Credits - Google Multicloud

If you plan to use Oracle AI Database@Google Cloud and have added it in the Multicloud Universal Credits contract, Oracle sends you an email to complete the purchase and Multicloud linking at the Google Cloud Console. Follow the steps as outlined at Purchase a Private Offer to complete the purchase. After the purchase is complete, follow the steps as outlined at Link an existing OCI account to Oracle AI Database@Google Cloud. On this Multicloud linking step, you're required to use the same OCI tenancy that you have used at the earlier step, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Multicloud Universal Credits.

Oracle PaaS and IaaS Universal Credits - AWS Multicloud

If you plan to use Oracle AI Database@AWS and have added it in the Multicloud Universal Credits contract, Oracle sends you an email to complete the purchase and Multicloud linking at the AWS Console. Follow the steps as outlined at Purchase a Private Offer to complete the purchase. After the purchase is complete, follow the steps as outlined at Link (for linking an existing OCI account to Oracle AI Database@AWS). On this Multicloud linking step, you're required to use the same OCI tenancy that you have used at the earlier step, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Multicloud Universal Credits.
