Creating a Business Event

Only customer users with the Authorized Approver role can add business events.

To create a business event:

  1. Navigate to either the Calendar Monthly or List View.

  2. Select the timezone you want to create the event on. The selected timezone is displayed in the upper-right side of the Create Business Event dialog.

  3. Click the Create Event icon (Create Event Icon) in the right part of the page.

    The Create Business Event dialog box opens.

  4. In the Event Type list, select any of the options listed at the beginning of this section.

  5. In the Start Date field, select the date and time you want your event to start on.

    Note:

    The start date of a business event must be equal to or higher than the current date.

    A minimum interval of 24 hours is required for all business events.

    For CPU patching events, the Start Date is automatically set at the start of the next Oracle recommended CPU patching window.

  6. In the End Date field, enter the date and time you want your event to end on.

    Note:

    The end date of a business event must be equal to or higher than its start date.

    To create an additional event, click the Add Event button on the Create Business Event dialog box and enter the event details, as listed above. You can create up to five business events at a time.

    For CPU Patching events, you must select the environment type and the environment they apply to. First, select the instance type, and then the instance name. You can create CPU Patching events for any instance (any type) with the instance prioritization Production.

    For CPU patching on Production instances, a minimum interval of 24 hours is required.

    For CPU patching on Production Support and Demo PSFT instances, a minimum interval of three-weekday range (72 hours) is required. For all other instance types, the minimum interval required is seven weekdays.

  7. Click Save.

    The Your business event was successfully saved. message is displayed in the upper left side of the page, and the business event is included in your calendar.

    Note:

    Use the Add Event button on the Create Business Event dialog box to create up to five business events at a time.
