Manage Resource Groups using the Console

You use resource groups to allocate additional OCPU capacity for multiple-semantic model deployments in Oracle Analytics Cloud. You can add, edit or remove resource groups for Oracle Analytics Cloud using the Console.

1. In Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console, click in the top left corner.
2. Click Analytics & AI. Under AI Data Platform, click Analytics Cloud.
3. Select the compartment that contains the Oracle Analytics Cloud instance you're looking for.
4. Click the name of the instance you want to configure resource groups for.
5. To add a resource group:
   1. Click Resource groups.
   2. Click Create resource group.
   3. In Resource name, enter a name for the resource group. For example, sales_resourcegroup.
   4. In Display name, enter a descriptive name for the resource group. When data modelers deploy their semantic models, the name you enter displays as an option in the deployment dialog. For example, Sales model.
   5. Optional: Enter a description, to help identify the resource group. For example, Resource group for the Sales model in Oracle Analytics.
   6. For Capacity, select the number of OCPUs you want to allocate to the resource group.
   7. Click Create.

   While in progress, the status of the service changes to Updating.

   The scale-up operation can take up to 60 minutes to complete. When complete, the service status changes to Active and data modelers can start to deploy semantic models to the resource group.

6. To delete a resource group that you no longer need, together with any semantic models deployed to the resource group:

   Any reports and workbooks that depend on the subject areas in the semantic model deployed to this resource group will be impacted.
   1. Click Resource groups.
   2. Click the Actions menu for the resource group you want to delete.
   3. Click Delete to confirm you want to delete the resource group.

   While in progress, the status of the service changes to Updating.

   The scale-down operation can take up to 60 minutes to complete. When complete, the service status changes to Active.
