The option to add a Managed Database to a Database Group is available on the Managed database details and Database group details pages. For information on the Managed database details page, see Monitor and Manage a Specific Managed Database.

  3. Click Add managed database in the Managed databases section.

    • A Database Group can have a maximum of 25 Managed Databases from a single compartment.
    • A Managed Database can be added to a maximum of five Database Groups.

After you add the Managed Databases to a Database Group, you can perform the following tasks on the Database group details page:

    Note

You cannot delete a Database Group with associated Managed Databases, and to do so you must first remove the databases from the group.
  • Monitor the total number of open database alarms and the number of alarms by severity, in the Database group details section. Note that the alarms are only displayed in Database Management if the OCID of the database is specified using the resourceId dimension when creating the alarm. You can click the number of alarms to access the Alarms panel and review the list of open alarms. For information, see Monitor Alarms for Managed Databases.
  • Click the Tags tab to add, view, edit, or remove tags. For information, see Working with Resource Tags.
  • Click Jobs on the left pane under Resources to create a job for the Database Group and monitor job runs and executions. For information on jobs, see Create and Monitor Jobs.
    Note

If a job is created for a Database Group that contains Autonomous Databases along with other External Databases or Oracle Cloud Databases, then the job is not executed for the Autonomous Database. In this case, an error is not displayed. If a job is created for a Database Group that only contains Autonomous Databases, then an error is displayed and the job is not created.
