Database Fleet Performance

The Database fleet performance dashboard provides an overview of the performance of your fleet of External Databases and Oracle Cloud Databases in a particular compartment, over a specified time period.

In the Database fleet performance dashboard:

  • Select a time period for which you want to display data in the widgets. By default, the widgets in the dashboard display performance data for the last 60 minutes, however, you can select a different time period in the upper-right corner of the dashboard.
  • Review the options in the Compartment and Databases fields above the widgets and make changes, if required. For example, in the Database fleet performance dashboard, the performance data of all the Database Management-enabled External Databases and Oracle Cloud Databases in the selected compartment is displayed by default, however, you have the option of selecting specific databases in the Databases field. In addition, you can click the names of the databases in the legend in each widget to deselect or select the databases whose performance data you do not want to view.

Here's the list of widgets displayed in the Database fleet performance dashboard and a brief description of each widget.

Note

Data is not displayed in certain widgets in the following scenarios:

  • For PDBs, metric data is not displayed in the Process utilization (%) and Flash recovery area utilization (%) widgets.

  • For Oracle Cloud Databases for which the Basic management option was selected when enabling Database Management, some widgets may not display any metric data. The Basic management option only includes 14 metrics such as CpuUtilization and StorageAllocated, and data for other metrics is not displayed in the widgets. For information on management options, see About Management Options.

Widget Description
Average Active Sessions

The average rate of accumulation of database time (CPU + Wait) by foreground sessions.

For RAC databases, this widget displays the sum of the average DB time across instances.

Note that this widget does not display metric data for Oracle Cloud Databases enabled with the Basic management option.

CPU utilization (%)

The percentage of CPU utilized.

For RAC databases, this widget displays the average of the CPU utilized across instances.

User calls

The total number of parse, logon and execute calls.

For RAC databases, this widget displays the sum of the total user calls across instances.

Memory usage (GB)

The average memory usage.

For RAC databases, this widget displays the sum of the average memory usage across instances.

Note that this widget does not display metric data for Oracle Cloud Databases enabled with the Basic management option.

Transactions

The total number of user commits and user rollbacks.

For RAC databases, this widget displays the sum of the total transactions across instances.

Current logons

The number of successful logons.

For RAC databases, this widget displays the sum of the average current logons across instances.

IO throughput (MBPS)

The average I/O throughput.

For RAC databases, this widget displays the sum of the average I/O throughput across instances.

Note that this widget does not display metric data for Oracle Cloud Databases enabled with the Basic management option.

Process utilization (%)

The percentage of process limit utilization.

For RAC databases, this widget displays the average process limit utilization across instances.

Note that this widget does not display metric data for PDBs and Oracle Cloud Databases enabled with the Basic management option.

IO per second (IOPS)

The average number of I/O operations per second.

For RAC databases, this widget displays the sum of the average IOPS across instances.

Note that this widget does not display metric data for Oracle Cloud Databases enabled with the Basic management option.

Storage usage (GB)

The total storage space used.

As this is a database-level metric, database instance metrics are not displayed in this widget for RAC databases.

Flash recovery area utilization (%)

The percentage of flash recovery area utilization.

As this is a database-level metric, database instance metrics are not displayed in this widget for RAC databases.

Note that this widget does not display metric data for PDBs and Oracle Cloud Databases enabled with the Basic management option.
