Overview

The Database Tools MCP Server enables you to connect external AI applications to databases supported by Database Tools Connections.

Key features include:

  • Secure and serverless: Uses the Database Tools service to run approved database operations without deploying middleware.
  • Database support: Supports all Oracle Database Cloud Services.
  • Remote MCP support: Works with MCP clients through Streamable HTTP transport.
  • Built-in tools: Includes prebuilt MCP tools for tasks such as SQL reporting and SQL script execution.
  • Extensible: Creates custom MCP tools using SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Authentication and authorization: Integrates with OCI IAM Identity Domains (IDCS) for identity management using OAuth 2.0.
