Troubleshoot pipeline issues

Explore recommendations for troubleshooting OCI GoldenGate pipeline issues.

Enable pipeline logs

  1. On the Pipelines page, select the pipeline for which you want to enable logging.
  2. On the Pipelines details page, select Logs.
  3. In list of pipeline logs, select Enable log from the Critical Events Actions menu.
  4. In the Enable log panel:
    1. For Log name, enter a name.
    2. From the Compartment dropdown, select a compartment.
    3. For Log group, you can:
      • Select a group from the dropdown
      • Create a new group
      • Leave it blank, and a default group is automatically assigned
    4. For Log retention, select the number of months from the dropdown.
    5. Click Enable log.
Wait for the status to become Active.

Collect diagnostics

Collect diagnostics to analyze or share information about your OCI GoldenGate pipeline. The diagnostics file contains discarded records, if any, for the Capture and Apply processes.

To collect diagnostics about your pipeline:
  1. On the pipeline details page, from the Actions menu, select Collect diagnostics.
  2. In the Collect diagnostics panel, select the compartment and bucket in which to save the diagnostics file.
  3. Enter a name prefix for the diagnostics file.
  4. Click Collect diagnostics.
After the collection process completes, you can download the diagnostics file from the pipeline details page.

Work requests

  1. On the Pipelines page, select the pipeline you want to view the work request for.
  2. On the Pipelines details page, on the navigation bar, select Work Requests.
  3. In the list of Pipelines, from the Actions menu, for the pipeline you want to enable, select View details.
Work requests help you monitor long-running operations. Possible work requests that you encounter here are:
  • Create
  • Start
  • Stop
  • Update
  • Delete
  • Move

Review metrics

  1. On the Pipelines page, select the pipeline you want to view the metrics for.
  2. On the Pipelines details page, on the navigation bar, select Monitoring.
